EXPLORE IN THIS SECTION: Getting an overview of the SDGs
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the United Nations’ blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all.
Adopted in 2015, the 17 goals address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. Together, they form a universal call to action — urging governments, organisations, and individuals to work collaboratively towards a fairer, more resilient world.
At UN Students Norway, the SDGs have been at the heart of our organisation since its inception. They guide our initiatives, discussions, and advocacy efforts — from promoting climate action and gender equality to advancing education and global partnerships. Through seminars, campaigns, and student-led projects, we aim to transform these global ambitions into tangible local action, empowering youth to become informed changemakers.
Youth and the world at large should care because the SDGs are not distant political objectives — they are a shared roadmap for the future we will all inhabit. By engaging with these goals today, young people help ensure that tomorrow’s societies are more just, sustainable, and inclusive for generations to come.
