HVA ER FN-STUDENTENE?

Working Towards a Better Tomorrow

FN-Studentene Norge, or United Nations Student Association of Norway (UNSAN) is an independent, non-partisan, non-profi organisation. We are guided by a shared aspiration: to advance global awareness, foster dialogue, and uphold the universal human rights that form the foundation of a just and sustainable world for all.

As a nationwide student organisation grounded by the principles and values of the United Nations, we seek to engage students and youths in meaningful discussions and actions that contribute to international cooperation, peace, and solidarity through informed engagement with the UN agendas. We believe that today’s students and young adults hold the potential to be the architects of tomorrow’s solutions.

Originally established as UN Student Association Oslo, our organisation has since grown into a vibrant national network with active chapters in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Agder, Tromsø, Lillehammer, and Stavanger. Together, these local chapters form a dynamic community dedicated to learning, reflection, and advocacy on the most pressing global challenges of our time.

Our activities cover a wide range of academic and social initiatives — including seminars, debates, workshops, conferences, and networking events — designed to stimulate critical thinking, encourage intercultural understanding, and inspire practical engagement. We also collaborate with embassies, non-governmental organisations, and academic institutions to bridge the gap between students and the international community.

As a voluntary organisation open to all students enrolled in higher education across Norway, UN Students Norway stands as a platform where ideas are exchanged freely, action is valued over rhetoric, and every voice is recognised as a force for positive change.

At the very heart of our mission lies an unwavering belief: that a sustainable, peaceful, and equitable world can only be achieved through informed, united, and active global citizenship.
