Why “UN” students

By adopting the UN´s principles, we seek to bring these global values into the academic and social spheres of student life in Norway. Our name reflects not only our admiration for the United Nations but also our commitment to translating its vision into tangible action through education, dialogue, and youth engagement.

The work we do at UNSA reflects the urgent need for engagement, responsibility, and solidarity in building a sustainable and equitable world. For us, being UN Students means standing together as part of a global community — one that believes in understanding before judgement, collaboration before division, and action before apathy.

"We can't deter people fleeing for their lives. They will come. The choice we have is how well we manage their arrival, and how humanely."

— António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (2017-2027)
