Registrations Open: Norwegian International Model United Nations 2026

Registrations are now open for the NIMUN Norway 2026, organised by UNSA Norway. The conference will bring together students and young people from across Norway and abroad for a three-day simulation of the United Nations General Assembly, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with the practice of international diplomacy.

What is Model United Nations?

Model United Nations (MUN) is an internationally recognised academic simulation in which participants represent UN Member States and engage in debates on global challenges. Delegates work through formal speeches, negotiations, and the drafting of resolutions to address pressing international issues. MUN conferences provide participants with valuable experience in diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking, and policy analysis, while also fostering a deeper understanding of international cooperation and the work of the United Nations.

About NIMUN

The Norwegian International Model United Nations (NIMUN) aims to provide a rigorous yet accessible platform for students interested in international affairs. Through structured debate and negotiation, participants will experience first-hand the dynamics of multilateral diplomacy and international decision-making.

This year’s simulation will take place in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the principal deliberative forum of the United Nations, and will this year take place under the theme “Diplomacy in an Age of Uncertainty”. The contemporary international landscape is characterised by geopolitical tensions, humanitarian crises, and increasing fragmentation in global politics. Within this context, the conference will explore the role of diplomacy and multilateral cooperation in addressing contemporary challenges related to peace, security, and humanitarian concerns.

Delegates will examine how international cooperation can function in an environment where consensus is often difficult to achieve, reflecting the realities of diplomacy within the United Nations system.

  • Gain practical experience in international diplomacy and negotiation

  • Develop skills in public speaking, policy analysis, and critical thinking
