Message from the President

Dear all,

In recent weeks, several members have asked whether I intend to seek another term as President of UNSA Norway. As we now approach the upcoming elections and the transition to a new National Board, I would therefore like to clarify that I will not be seeking another term as President.

Serving as President has been both a challenge and a great privilege. Over the past year, the role has offered valuable insights into leadership, organisational development, and the responsibilities that accompany guiding a national youth organisation. Perhaps most importantly, it has introduced me to a remarkable community of peers and mentors—both in Norway and internationally—whose support and friendship I will continue to value.

For those considering applying for the position of President, I would particularly encourage you to reflect on the opportunities the role offers. As President of UNSA Norway, you also represent the organisation on the board of FN-Sambandet. This provides a unique opportunity to gain experience with organisational governance while working alongside dedicated professionals and fellow board members. It is a role that offers valuable mentorship, insight into international cooperation, and a professional network that extends well beyond one’s time in the organisation.

During this past year, I have sought to strengthen UNSA Norway’s focus on youth engagement in peace and security and to further develop the organisation’s international outlook, while maintaining its identity as a student-led platform for engagement with the United Nations. I look forward to seeing how the next President and National Board will continue to build on this work.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the National Board, our local chapters, FN-Sambandet, and our partners across the UN youth network for their dedication and collaboration throughout this year.

Although I will be stepping down from the presidency, I will remain available to support the incoming leadership whenever helpful, and I look forward to continuing to follow the organisation’s development in the years ahead.
