2nd Nordic Forum on Youth, Peace & Security

This year´s conference was held at Scandic Fornebu 9th-10th of October 2025

What is the Nordic Forum on Youth, Peace and Security?

The Nordic Forum on Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) is a regional platform that brings together young people from across the Nordic countries to engage with the Youth, Peace and Security agenda and explore how youth can contribute to peacebuilding, diplomacy, and international cooperation.

Inspired by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 and subsequent resolutions on Youth, Peace and Security, the forum seeks to strengthen youth participation in discussions on peace, security, and global governance. By providing a space for dialogue between young leaders, policymakers, diplomats, and civil society representatives, the forum aims to bridge the gap between youth perspectives and decision-making processes.

The Nordic Forum on YPS encourages participants to reflect critically on contemporary security challenges while exploring how young people can contribute constructively to peacebuilding efforts both regionally and globally.

The Nordic Forum on YPS in Oslo

In 2025, the second Nordic Forum on Youth, Peace and Security was hosted in Oslo through a collaboration between the Nordic Coalition, the United Nations Student Association of Norway (UNSA Norway), and the United Nations Youth Association of Finland (UNYA Finland).

The two-day conference gathered approximately 70 young participants from across the Nordic region for discussions on youth engagement in peace and security. The forum aimed to strengthen regional cooperation among young people interested in international affairs while providing participants with insight into how the Youth, Peace and Security agenda is implemented within Nordic contexts.

Throughout the forum, participants had the opportunity to engage with diplomats, policymakers, and experts working with international cooperation and peacebuilding.
