Youth, Peace and Security Workshop

  • University of Agder (UiA), Room B3 004 (map)

Are you interested in questions of peace and security, and do you believe that youth participation can contribute to better decisions and more sustainable solutions? UN Students Agder invites you to an interactive event introducing the United Nations’ Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda.

The Youth, Peace and Security initiative builds on the recognition that young people play an important role in promoting dialogue, preventing conflict, and contributing to sustainable peace. The project highlights how youth engagement can strengthen decision-making processes and support efforts to build more inclusive and resilient societies.

During the event, participants will first receive a short introduction to the Youth, Peace and Security agenda and the project being developed by UN Students Agder. Following the presentation, participants will work in smaller discussion groups to explore ideas and perspectives related to youth engagement in peace and security. The event will conclude with a plenary discussion, where key insights and proposals from the group discussions will be shared.

The workshop is open to all students interested in international affairs, peacebuilding, and youth participation in global governance.

🍕 Pizza will be provided.
