Women, Peace and Security
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
Join UNSA and researchers from PRIO (Peace Research Institute Oslo) for an engaging discussion on what the resolution has achieved – and the challenges that remain. The event will explore the systematic use of sexual violence as a weapon of war and conflict, and how international frameworks like UNSCR 1325 can contribute to justice, protection and meaningful change.
Speakers:
Torunn Tryggestad, Deputy Director at PRIO and Director of the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security.
Johanne Rokke Elvebakken, PhD candidate in Political Science at the Centre for Gender Research, University of Oslo. She studies children born of war (CBOW) in Norway, Denmark, and Kosovo.
